Ally Du MBA, and RYT
I have stretched myself around the yoga mat for over 15 years gaining lots of diverse and inspirational experiences – in China, UK, and Canada. Qualification alone is not useful unless we have real experiences is a concept widely expressed by great writers. Believing this philosophy I graduated from The North American Yoga Alliance 200 Hour Teacher Training Program to become a registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), therefore, adding demonstrated knowledge to my real experiences. I am now in process of obtaining RYT 500 certification from Downward Dog Yoga Centre Toronto.
“Yu” is my given name and means “universe” in Chinese. It was given by my parents to inspire a wondrous journey through life. My earlier career as a finance professional resulted in living, working, and travelling through over 20 countries. From the UK I brought two things, a smart Welsh Border Collie, and a not so smart but wonderful British husband.
However, the most notable thing I have from this wondrous journey is Yoga as it helps to maintain all the good things in life and deal with the moments I am lost in a dark woods. In my middle age crisis I was diagnosed with overactive thyroids of which low energy, anxiety and depression are symptoms. Sometimes I wished that I would not wake up to face the daily grind of board meetings, emotional issues, and housework. One friend recommended attending a yoga class and I first rolled myself on the mat and the rest is history. Off the mat I feel amazingly refreshed and nourished.
I have moved to Yoga completely and enjoy both learning and teaching. My MBA and management experience enhance me to focus on clients’ needs and create theme-oriented classes.
“We do not receive wisdom, we must discover it for ourselves, after a journey through the wilderness which no one else can make for us, which no one can spare us”- Marcel Proust
My husband knows of an old Irish proverb:
“Wisdom makes a poor man king,
a foolish man reasonable,
and a good generation of a bad one”
If you find some connection here I sincerely hope to see you at “yudu yoga”, share my life transformation experience and explore your path.
